The Kamviu factory is located on the south-eastern foothills of Mount Kenya and makes part of the Gakundu Farmers Society.
Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,750-1,800 meters above sea level, the farmers benefit from the deep red volcanic soils and rich organic matter.
The ripening of the cherry is closely monitored and hand-picked in the early hours of the morning by smallholder farmers before it undergoes processing to remove the skin and pulp, known as the wet processing method.
AA refers to the grade of the coffee. The highest quality available in Kenya.
The final result is a perfect example of a classic Kenyan coffee – a balance of sweet fruity flavours with an elegant winey acidity.
