Issue #3, September '21

A moth walks into a Podiatrists office. The Podiatrist welcomes him in and says "what's the problem?"

"What's the problem? Where do I begin, Doc. I've got to tell you. I'm not doing well. My progress has stalled at work. My boss doesn't listen to my ideas. I don't even know what i'm doing anymore. I end up just walking, endlessly"

"Go on", said the Doctor.

"My son. My youngest son, is getting into trouble at school. And this is the hardest pill to swallow, Doc. I'm not sure I can even connect with him anymore? When I look at him in the eyes, I see the same moth cowardice as when I catch my own, moth face in the mirror."

"Doc, sometimes I feel like a spider even though I'm a moth. Just barely hanging on to my web."

"Moth, man, you're in trouble" replied the Doctor, exasperated. "But you should be seeing a psychiatrist, why on earth did you come here?"

And the month says "Because the light was on."

...

Congratulations to everyone that made it through that whole joke. I bet you're thirsty. I know I am. Well today's your lucky day, we just launched a cold brew.

How To "Dial In" Espresso

This latest extended lockdown has lead to a huge surge in "at home baristas" and we're totally here for it. This shouldn't, however, have to mean settling for anything less-than-exceptional. Our YouTube channel has all the resources you could dream of (and some you probably won't).

Our latest video walks you through how to adjust, or "dial in" your grinder to make the perfect espresso. A skill that's often overlooked, but vital in your learning process. Check out the video below 👇👇👇

The Fix: a Loosely Coffee Related Playlist

Fun fact - last month's "music to listen to whilst drinking coffee on a balcony" playlist submissions were so good, it made me really regret not having a balcony. Instead, I was left gazing forlornly out of the window. With that in mind, this month I'm looking for "music to listen to whilst gazing forlornly out of windows" Just reply to this email with your recommendations and i'll add them to the playlist as we go!

That's all from me this month. If you're reading this from lockdown, stay strong - we're almost through the worst of it! Remember to stay safe, stay healthy & stay caffeinated.
